PREDICTO MOBILE OFFERS CASH-STRAPPED LOHAN A HELPING HAND
March 24, 2009 - Responding swiftly to recent reports that Lindsay Lohan is experiencing increasing stress due to her unemployed status, the text messaging service Predicto Mobile has stepped up to offer the beleaguered actress a fresh source of income. The leading SMS company has made a proposal to pay Lohan $50,000 if she will be their spokesperson for the year.
In recent months Lohan, who has not done a movie since 2007, has been featured in the press less for her acting and more often for her frequent bickering with partner Samantha Ronson. Sources say that the spats between the two stem largely from Lohan's financial situation, which has made her dependent on credit and Ronson's money to cover her own expenses. In the April issue of Nylon, Lohan says, "It's scary when you realize, 'Oh my God, I'm not working. And I have a house to pay for now.' "
In less than two years, Predicto has given rise to one of the fastest growing mobile communities. Members vote by text message and online, making predictions on the latest questions in entertainment news and popular culture. And while a current survey asking "Will Lindsay Lohan, who has been unemployed since 2007, land a film role by July?" thus far has 60% of voters responding YES, Predicto's CEO Eyal Yechezkell thinks the spokesperson opportunity could help Lindsay with more than just her house payments.
"Especially for such a young person, Ms. Lohan has been at the center of more than her share of controversy through the years. We think this is a great opportunity for her to flip the script, if you will, to take the side of the masses who are asking the big questions rather than remain an object of rumors and gossip," says Mr. Yechezkell.
